However, depending on the person’s jawbone, general health status and the procedures performed, there may be situations where it is necessary to wait for a recovery period instead of completing the treatment in a single session.

This healing period is the osseointegration period, also known as the period of fusion between the jawbone and the implant. During the recovery period, temporary teeth should be made so that the person can both chew food and avoid aesthetic problems.

Today, it is possible to leave the clinic with fixed temporary teeth in the same session as the implant procedure. In some special cases, it may be necessary to wait for a short period of wound healing before temporary teeth can be used.

Implants can be used safely for many years with proper care. It may even be possible for them to remain part of our bodies for life.

Since they do not decay like natural teeth or deform like other materials, implants can remain in place even if the porcelain teeth or prostheses placed on them need to be replaced.

However, without good care and hygiene, the jawbone and gums to which the implants are attached can become infected and become unable to hold the implants. For this reason, routine oral care and the special care recommended by your doctor are very important. As with all dental treatments, regular medical check-ups should not be neglected.

Implant application is performed painlessly with local anesthesia applied to that area. After the operation, there may be a mild pain that can occur after any tooth extraction. Since it is a procedure applied to the jawbone, mild edema may also occur.

The implant follows a 2-stage treatment procedure. The first stage is the placement of the implant, 2. the next stage is the implant prosthesis. Implant operation is approximately 15 minutes for 1 implant. There is a waiting period of 3-4 months after the operation to ensure that the implants are fully fused with the jawbone. Following this, a permanent implant prosthesis is made within 10 days. A temporary prosthesis can be made during the 3-4 month healing period.
